Digital learning tools

Digital learning tools
We use a lot of  different online tools to help us in class. We use these online tools to either help us out, make something more efficiently or make something more creative. In this case it is to help us out.
e-ako maths is one of our many online tools we use.
e-ako is a site based on learning maths.

It teaches you all about

This site is really handy when you are being introduced to something that you are stuck on and helps you in many ways. If lets say you are struggling on your basic facts it has range of tasks to help you get better.

Overall I like using e-ako because it teaches maths to me in a different light to what teachers do.

Math Time

Math Time
913 - 57 = ??? In maths we have been learning how to take away a 2 digit number from a 3 digit number. The way we have learnt I think is easy and is fast to do. The method is to use addition and subtraction.
This is how we used this method to work out 913 - 57= ?
913 - 57 = 856
57 + 43 = 100
913 - 100 = 813
813 + 43 = 856
Highlighted in red is the adding and subtracting.
I think that this is the best way to work out what an answer to an 3 digit number take away 2 digit number.
Overall I think that this would come in hand when working out something when you do not have a calculator handy.

Learning To Give Change

LO: To learn how to give change
We have been learning to give change from big amounts.
We showed our learning by making this DLO ( Digital Learning Object).
What I have learned from making this is there is a way to teach something in less then 3 minutes.
So here is my DLO. 
This will teach you an idea on how to give change.
What I thought was a challenge: Well I did not really find anything hard expect when putting in the link that I did the type of link that everyone can view.

Capacity

Today we were learning about capacity  math strategy. The problem we had was Marama is planing a birthday party. She is inviting 11 friends 12 counting her. We need to find out how many 1.5 litre soft drink bottles will she need if they have one drink each. To do this we put water in one of the cups and then did it to the rest  to see how much  1.5 lire bottle can hold. We found out that the bottle can fill 8 and 1 third cups. One "trade purpose" cup is 180 milliliters.
